"Pride in Fatherhood"

If you were a product of the 90's you likely saw 3 types of fathers on television.

The first was the dad who was so consumed with work he missed all the soccer games and ballet recitals. (Dad from Jingle All The Way)

The second was the bumbling idiot who's wife resented him and who's children didn't respect him. (Think Bart Simpson or Hal from Malcom in the middle)

The third fatherhood model was the one who ruled with fear. His children were afraid to even be in the same home with him (Hello, Red Foreman... we are looking at you!)

But there is another style of Fatherhood that is rarely depicted and its the man who has pride in fatherhood... the one who shows his emotions- the one who's children can dance with him in the living room. The one that shares in the duty of parenthood. 

It is time for us men to step up to the challenge of having Pride in Fatherhood.
